About the Show

Following the success of The Hollow, The Unexpected Guest, And Then There Were None and Spider's Web, the Agatha Christie Theatre Company is proud to present the next instalment in the highly acclaimed series, Christie's undisputed masterpiece: Witness for the Prosecution.

After huge stage success the play was filmed by Billy Wilder in 1957, starring Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich and Charles Laughton. It won many awards including nominations for seven Oscars and was the year's Number One Box Office hit.

The tour de force cast is led by Denis Lill (The Royal), Deborah Grant (Bergerac, Bouquet of Barbed Wire), Ben Nealon (Soldier, Soldier), and Robert Duncan (Drop the Dead Donkey), with Peter Byrne (Dixon of Dock Green), Elizabeth Power (Eastenders) and 60's teen idol Mark Wynter.

Emily French, an elderly woman who recently left her considerable estate to the charming young Leonard, is found dead. Murdered. Though he protests hisinnocence, Leonard quicklybecomes the prime suspect. His plea hinges on his wife's testimony, until the sudden appearance of a mysterious woman, bearing an unexpected clue. Will the truth be revealed in time or will Leonard be declared guilty at the hands of the Witness for the Prosecution?
